Non-irrigated, Decorative, Erosion Control, Low Fuel The Shoemaker Bally Mix is a balanced blend of erosion controlling, decorative, low water use native grasses and flowers for revegetation of disturbed soil and slopes in the M261Am subsection of California. There is a quick start annual grass to protect soil, legumes for additional nitrogen, and organic matter to allow the slower establishing perennials to do their permanent, low fuel , fine leaf cover for years to come. The establishment of this system will require some consideration and cost to be allocated for initial maintenance, primarily weed control. The common cultural practice of mowing, fertilizing and irrigation has been used successfully in the establishment of perennial crops. The inclusion of HYDROPOST, an organic fertilizer, has been used successfully in the establishment of perennial grasses and improving low organic subsoil. When used in conjunction with a mycorrhizae inoculant, AM120, these products address horticultural problems associated with erosion control project installation.
