Sierra Nevada
Bioregional Mixture

A Revegetation Remedy
Albright's Sierra Nevada Bioregional Mixture is a balanced blend of erosion controlling, decorative, low water use native grasses and flowers for revegetation of disturbed soil and slopes in California's Sierra Nevada bioregion. The mix uses Zorro Fescue—a quick starting annual grass to protect exposed soil. Legumes—Stickle Keel Lupine and Purshings Lotus— are included for additional nitrogen, and organic matter to allow the slower establishing perennials to develop a permanent, low-fuel, erosion control cover.

Full establishment of this revegetation system will require some initial maintenance—primarily, weed control. Consideration should be given in cost allocation to meet this requirement. Otherwise, the common cultural practice of mowing, fertilizing and irrigation may be been used successfully to promote perennial vegetation growth.

Hard Problem—Soft Solutions
We recommend use of HYDROPOST, an effective organic fertilizer, to support plant establishment while rebuilding soil fertility. HYDROPOST, when used in conjunction with AM120, our endomycor-rhizal inoculant, you address the most overlooked horticultural problem associated with revegetation—building the soil's rhisosphere through microbial action.
